What Percentage of Salary Does Workers’ Compensation Pay?
I often get questions from injured workers asking what percentage of salary for work comp pay if injured on the job and eligible to receive workers’ compensation income benefits. There are several variables that determine the percentage an injured worker will receive from their employer but this is the general formula.
1. The average of your weekly wages for the 13 weeks prior to your date of the accident is calculated
2. This amount is multiplied by 2/3
3. This is your weekly compensation rate (subject to a maximum of $500 for injuries before 7/1/13 and $550 for injuries after that date)
